An absolute banger as always, Alex...but you absolutely MUST write to that VP who sent that email. Even better would be to coordinate a coffee or lunch (if possible) to tell him in person. As a former teacher, when I have students reach out to me years later to talk about some positive impact I had on them, I am deeply humbled and grateful by it. I think it would be the same experience for this VP ;-)

The truth is that VP was your trigger to become your starting point. During the 24 years, you were at that time, perhaps nothing had made you think about making a change in your life. But it was there, when that spark was lit that was always in you to build what you are today. It's a great life experience story that has helped you remember why you started and where you're headed over the years.

Reading what you write motivates me, thanks, Alex!
