Happy Thursday everyone! A quick note on saying ‘No’: never be afraid to say it. Over the last week I’ve overextended myself. I said ‘yes’ to a lot of different commitments (meetings, Spaces, calls) that have pulled me away from my main mission. As someone who is newer to having a large platform, you can feel a sense of guilt when you turn people down or when you don’t respond to every single DM. The issue is that saying yes to everything will burn you out quickly.
As you build your audience and platform, don’t be afraid to say no. Don’t be scared to ask for an agenda or turn people down. The quickest path to burning out is attempting to please everyone around you. Habits I’m working on that I would recommend for you too:
Ask for agendas before meetings
Be completely honest when you don’t feel like doing something
If you are feeling emotionally exhausted, turn everything off and don’t feel guilty about it
Get 8 hours of sleep (I’m running on 5 right now and my productivity has to be down 95% today)

Content Competition:
Today was day 1 of the 1% Club content competition. Up to this point NFTs have been used to make communities exclusive. I want to use NFTs to strengthen this community. For the next 7 days anyone can write a thread on Twitter and tag it with #1percentbetter and @nft_god. Mem.ai: Raw idea generation
Mem.ai is a simple notepad app driven by AI. It’s the first app I pull out on my phone because it has the fastest brain-to-screen speed of any note app I use. What I mean by that is no other app I use is fast at capturing ideas when I come up with them. I open the app and immediately start typing. The organization is excellent too. You can enter in hashtags anywhere, which will automatically file the notes into different categories.
The key to creativity is capturing every raw idea that comes to you. Mem.ai has been the best tool for capturing that.
Notion: Idea development
Notion is my 2nd brain. It holds all of my notes for everything I do. Business, consulting, copywriting, idea development, meeting notes, almost everything that goes through my brain is in Notion. Notion is an advanced notepad database that allows you to make complex systems for data capture.
I've set up a creative board in Notion to develop all my ideas after I've captured them. I have four columns: 'not started', 'in progress', 'ready to publish', and 'done'. I transfer all my raw ideas from Mem into the 'not started' column. At night I'll go back into Notion and start developing these ideas. Once I start developing the idea, I move it into "In progress." When a tweet or newsletter idea is fully ironed out, I move it into "Ready to Publish." Then when I've scheduled it for publication, I move it into "done." Building a system like this is critical for being creatively efficient.
Twitter Lists: Stealing Like an Artist
Twitter Lists is the most underutilized tool on Twitter. To create great content, you need to be learning from the best. Twitter Lists allow you to block out all the engagement farming and noise and just have a feed full of high-quality content. I recommend jotting down all the accounts you inspire to be like in a notepad. I challenge you to find accounts from both inside and outside your niche so you can consume content you're not used to. Every day go through this list and think of ways to turn their content into your own. My Twitter List consists of Justin Welsh, Dan Koe, and Naval.
Google Sheets: Finding Inspiration + Analysis
This is one of the best idea-generation tools I have. Looking back at your historical content is critical. Every night after going through my Twitter Lists, I go back and review all my old content. I have a Google Sheet where I have columns for the tweet, likes, replies, retweets, category, and structure of the tweet. I manually copy and paste in the stats, then determine the category and structure of the tweet.
This allows me to determine what my audience enjoys the most. Do they like long tweets? Short tweets? Threads? Listicles? Self-improvement tweets? Web 3 tweets? By having this spreadsheet, I can go back and do analysis on what works the best and think about ways I can improve. I’d highly recommend making a copy of this template I create and filling in your own tweets.
Hypefury: Scheduling
Hypefury is my favorite social media scheduling tool. You must have a scheduling tool if you are taking Twitter seriously. It allows you to plan ahead so that you don’t need to think about Twitter all day. Much better for your mental health.
Hypefury is excellent because it has a ridiculously easy-to-use scheduler, a fantastic drafting tool, and advanced functionality like auto-retweeting. If you don’t use a social media scheduling tool, I recommend trying out Hypefury here.
A Community: Critical Feedback
Lastly, I’d recommend finding a content creation community or a group of friends to share your work with and get critical feedback. You’re not always going to get the best feedback when you post, so you must have groups of people you can trust to review your content and let you know where you need to improve. I have people I trust to send drafts of threads that will let me know exactly where I might be weak and which changes I can make.
Having a tech stack and a system to make your creative process more efficient is critical, especially if you’re someone like me who has a million other things to do during the day. If you have a day job, kids, and family who need your attention at all times, it’s hyper-important to have a system in place to get your creative work done.
