The permanent underclass is coming. Here's how to escape it.

Direct steps to take today

In the next 12 months you will fall into 1 of 2 groups. The permanent underclass or the permanent overclass.

Bad news: you will be stuck there. Good news: you can decide which you fall into.

So what is the ‘permanent underclass’?

Right now there are 2 kinds of people: those adopting AI and those not.

Right now the people who adopt the latest AI tech have significantly more economic power than those who don’t. They can build and create value for the world significantly faster.

As more powerful AI tools release like OpenClaw and Opus 4.6, the economic power gap only widens and widens.

Eventually this gap will be so wide, that the people who haven’t adopted AI will have 0 economic power. They will be stuck with what they have. It will be over.

No company will want to hire them and they’ll have no power to create value on their own.

On the flip side, the people who have OpenClaws automating their entire digital life, super intelligence guiding all their decisions, and products/services continuously earning them money, will have infinitely scalable economic power nobody will be able to take away.

This isn’t something I just pulled out of my ass either. There is real data behind this. Turn on CNBC. Read any economic blog. Their term for this concept is just ‘K Shaped Recovery’.

You can see it in the stock market right now. Companies that are not taking advantage of AI tools are being crushed. Companies that stand to gain from the AI revolution are getting eye watering gains.

There is no stock market for human beings, so there are no charts to show how little economic power you have if you’re not adopting these tools.

Why 12 months for the permanent underclass?

Because this is when I predict the power of these tools will be so great that those using them will have conquered and automated all economic opportunity available.

On top of that the truly top tier AI tools will be so expensive, that only the people who created economic opportunity for themselves will be able to afford them, only adding to their economic power.

So what can you do to avoid the permanent underclass?

I have good news. It’s still really easy and cheap to get on the cutting edge of these tools (for now).

You just need to be using them every single day for at least an hour.

If you use the latest AI tools every day from now until 2027, I guarantee you’ll be in amazing shape.

Here’s what I’d adopt immediately:

OpenClaw is by far the most powerful AI tool ever created. It’s also free and open source. All you need is an AI plan for it from any LLM company. You can pay $10 a month for Minimax and still be able to get a ton out of OpenClaw. Get this installed and start using it.

Claude Opus 4.6 is the greatest AI model ever to chat with. Use this as a daily driver to solve every challenge you have and bounce ideas off of.

Codex 5.3 Spark is the most powerful coding model right now. It gives you super intelligent coding at speeds you can’t imagine. Start building apps with this model, even if you’ve never coded before.

Experiment with local models. Local super intelligence is the future. Having a computer on your desk where you have you own personal, private, super intelligent AI model that knows you inside and out and isn’t accessible to the outside world will be common for the permanent overclass. Even if you have a cheap mac mini, ask your AI which local models you can install. Then experiment with them.

You don’t need to be rich to take advantage of this opportunity. You just need to have agency and a bias for action. That’s it.

The purpose of this article isn’t to scare you. It’s to wake you up before it’s too late.

Put aside all the distractions. Put aside all the things that do not matter. I recently got rid of my gaming computer. There’s no time for the BS anymore. Now is the time for action. Now is the time to strike.

The question becomes, now that you know what the world will be like in 12 months, what will you do now? Will you just leave this article in your bookmarks like 99% of people will? Will you go crack open a beer and watch Stranger Things season 5? Or will you take action?
